What is Forest School?
Have you heard about Forest School? It's an opportunity that allows children to learn and connect with the outdoors. Pretty cool, right? This idea actually started in Scandinavia, where they believe that being outside and playing in a natural surrounding is important for children's growth and happiness. Recent studies back that up! Turns out, spending time learning outside helps young people understand how to take care of nature, themselves, and others. How awesome is that!
The United Kingdom caught on to this idea in the early 1990s, and now Forest School's are popping up all over the place. They're not just about learning - they're about developing personal, social, emotional, physical, and lifelong skills in young people.

A bit about me
Hi there! I'm Nicki, the founder of Raksha Forest School.
I'm a retired police officer who is passionate about the outdoors, adventure, and all things nature. I've been a part of the Scout movement since I was a kid, which is where I learned all about bushcraft and outdoor skills. I've been leading Cub Scouts for the past two decades and I absolutely love it.
I'm a certified Forest School Level 3 Practitioner and I have qualifications in Outdoor and Paediatric First Aid. Safety is always a top priority for me, which is why I'm safeguard trained and have a current DBS check. I'm here to share my passion for the outdoors with you and help you discover the wonders of nature.
